Coming Together After the Storm

On March 29, 2025, EPU partnered with Operation BBQ Relief (OBR) for a day of service and healing in Tampa’s Leto district—a historically underserved community still recovering from last year’s devastating hurricanes and flooding.

With the help of Hillsborough County and local leaders, we served over 1,500 hot meals, offering more than just food—we offered care, community, and connection.

More Than a Meal

Hosted at West Park, the event brought together volunteers, veterans, first responders, and families for a day of celebration and support. Alongside the aroma of slow-smoked BBQ, mobile relief trucks, music from a community DJ, and shared laughter filled the air.

From early morning load-ins to the last plate served, the energy was undeniable. Volunteers high-fived one another between shifts, children danced near the DJ booth, and neighbors broke bread together—many for the first time in months.

“How Do We Lift Each Other Up?”

Actor and EPU partner Wilmer Valderrama joined the effort, helping serve food and connect directly with local residents. In his words:

“That’s what this country is about—when we put differences aside and come together, and say hey, how do we walk the same path together? How do we lift each other up?”

Throughout the day, Wilmer met with community leaders, embraced elders, and worked alongside veterans to bring care and visibility to a neighborhood that’s often overlooked.

A Community-Focused Mission

From interviews with Operation BBQ Relief’s leadership to candid conversations with Leto residents, one message came through loud and clear: service creates unity.

This event reminded us why we do what we do. Our mission at EPU has always been about more than performance apparel—it’s about showing up, doing the work, and being part of something bigger.

Out of Many, One.

As we continue to grow, so does our commitment to the communities we serve. Through partnerships like this, a portion of every EPU purchase helps fuel real impact across the country.

We’re proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Leto—and with all those rebuilding with strength, resilience, and heart.
